Beautiful blue skies! Reason No. 2

The last few months have been cold and grey in good old England. It was quite a wet summer and now that autumn is coming to an end, the days are even gloomier. This afternoon however, after a cold and dreary morning, we had clear blue skies, with sunshine! Yes, real actual sunshine. What a joy! It was still freezing cold but the day was literally brighter than it has been for a while. And that’s what brought a smile to my eyes today!

It’s a beautiful day!

“Your mama…”

My dearest children: ‘Your mama’ jokes are not funny when you are playing them with your brother or sister. ESPECIALLY, when your mama (me) is sitting in the same room!

Reason 26: Good Health

There are certain things in life we take for granted. I will wake up tomorrow, and do all the things I have planned to do. I will be able to pick up the phone and speak to my loved ones. And so we take for granted our good health. Until its taken away from us, and only then do we miss it. Appreciate it. And pray for it’s restoration. So today, I’ll take a moment to appreciate my good health. And that of my loved ones.

Back to reality…

Ok, so back at work today. Would love to still be at home with the kids, but there is a recession going on so am grateful to still have a job to go back to!

Reason no. 24: I have a job (that I kind of enjoy!).

Happy 2013

I entered the new year surrounded by family, at my cousin’s home. There is nowhere else I would rather have been. I am blessed with such a loving family, and I am grateful for them each and every day.

Reason 22: Celebrating love!

Christmas is here!

It means different things to those of us who celebrate it. However, whether we are religious or not, Christmas is a time for love and charity. Embracing the spirit of giving and showing our loved ones how much they mean to us.

If you have loved ones, who put time, money and effort into getting you something this Christmas, I hope you appreciate whatever it is. The most important thing is that we have people in our lives who care enough to try.

We all try to give to our loved ones. Maybe we should all consider giving to someone who may not have a loved one. Good will to ALL mankind, not just the ones we love. And maybe we could  try not be too wasteful, consumption for the sake of it. Above all, I hope we love one another.

Hope you all have a Christmas filled with love, peace and harmony.

Funny moments – Reason 21

Says my 6 year old son, “I’ve been growing my armpit hairs for nearly 7 years, and look, nothing!”

How can I not smile at that!
