The last few months have been cold and grey in good old England. It was quite a wet summer and now that autumn is coming to an end, the days are even gloomier. This afternoon however, after a cold and dreary morning, we had clear blue skies, with sunshine! Yes, real actual sunshine. What a joy! It was still freezing cold but the day was literally brighter than it has been for a while. And that’s what brought a smile to my eyes today!
It’s a beautiful day!
There’s a mirror in my house, that’s pretty awesome! It doesn’t really matter what time of day it is, what my hair looks like, or what I’m wearing, I always look stunning in it. It makes me feel like I don’t need make up or fancy clothes to be beautiful.
That little old mirror reminds me of my best friend. A friend I’ve known for more than 20 years. She sees the very best in me. When I see myself through her eyes, I feel loveable. I feel I don’t need any enhancements for people to like me. She makes me feel loved and accepted, just as I am!
I wish for everyone a best friend like mine! One who loves and builds you up. One who always has you in their heart. The kind of friend whose love you can feel from hundreds of miles away!!
Here’s to awesome friends!!
There are so very many different things that define us. A young man came to my door this morning offering to cut my grass. My first impressions of him were that he was quite scruffy. We agreed on a fee and he got started tidying up my garden.
It wasn’t long before I realised what a hard working and thorough young man I was dealing with here. You can tell when you’re dealing with someone who takes pride in the work they do. Needless to say, I was left feeling hopeful that the next generation aren’t all about Xbox and Playstation! Capable of putting in the hard graft and delivering!
So here’s to that hard working young man and the diligence he embodies!
There’s that awkward moment when someone introduces you to a group of colleagues as Lindsey, instead of Lynn. And for some reason it seems the polite response is to smile. But of course for the rest of the conversation, everyone is calling you Lindsey. And you just wanna shout, “My name is Lynn!”
Anyone else ever had that kind of moment? Breathe in, breathe out and smile…

So, last Thursday my baby cousin (who isn’t a baby at all!), gave birth to a gorgeous little baby boy. As I sat there holding my new baby nephew, his slightly older, 4 year old brother piped up, “Why do you keep holding my baby brother? You already have a big tummy! Why don’t you go to the doctor and get your own baby?”
Before, I could think up a suitable response, my 7 year old son piped up with, “She’s not having a baby, she’s just fat!”
Gotta love those kids!!

I’ve been very blessed this year! An aunt three times! Two beautiful nieces and one gorgeous nephew!
Three very wonderful reasons to smile!
Out for a walk with my son and nephew, and this is what my son gave me so I could make three wishes!
Now there’s a reason to smile!
One of the best gifts my mother gave me, was showing me she believed in me. As a child growing up, she always asked my opinion on big decisions. We discussed moving house, moving continents, at what school I would study. My opinions mattered and my contributions were valued. The belief that my thoughts and feelings matter has been with me since. Without needing external validation, I know that I matter.
Grateful for the people who invest in us emotionally, and bring out the best in us!
